We’ve all seen the movie Toy Story right? I’m pretty sure that’s close to how it actually works. Toys getting up in the middle of the night makes way more sense than our precious angels making such giant messes, right?
Sure. Continue reading
Whether you call it a purse, bag, handbag, shoulder bag, or backpack, I promise you there are great ways to make those things more functional! Saving you time and your back! But first a classic purse joke…
“As the bus pulled away, I realized I had left my purse under the seat. Later, I called the company and was relieved that the driver had found my bag. Continue reading
It was a bright and sunny day in Orlando Florida.
Just another day in paradise when you hear – “Organize Your Pets” from the girl next to you.
“Organize my pets huh? So my dog could learn to like, clean up?”, you ask. Remembering that you saw a dog on YouTube vacuuming.
“Yeah, I could totally go for that.” You say nodding your head emphatically. Continue reading
Father’s Day is Coming!!! Get your orders placed! Gather your pitch forks…. wait, wrong holiday.
Now, you know that here at Spark! Organizing we’re super fans of being clutter free so it makes no sense whatsoever to buy Dad junk. No more ties. No more key chains. Continue reading
Now, I’m good with words and I could just tell you how but why tell you when I have this adorable little video? It really couldn’t be any easier.
Wrap a pen, or in this case a little flashlight with a bit of tape. Gaffe tape and painters tape don’t leave heavy residue but duct tapes work here too! Continue reading
Oh the little things…
Batteries, pencils, twist ties, rubber bands, legos, toiletries, tea candles, you know, the little things. Stuff you really do need but they’re just begging to be organized. You already know I’m not going to tell you to throw them in a drawer and forget out it.
Nope. Not this girl.
While I think it’s magical to toss junk to the curb, there are plenty of items that are quite necessary in today’s world we must keep.
Twist ties, cable ties, zip ties, paperclips, husbands, that penny that you picked up that special time with so and so.
You get the idea.
You of course have it under control. You’re a brilliant human being who understands everything has a place and you know where it is. Your problem is that you live with other human beings who expect you to find that place for every single little item to walk the face of the earth.
Sadly we can’t just hug these items, thank them, and toss them in the trash. So we do the next best thing we put them in the drawer of delayed decisions. Also known as…. (sad trumpet sound – wa wa wa)…. the junk drawer. The drawer with batteries and that last stick of gum.
Yeah, let’s do something about it.
I promise you’ll feel super human or at very least productive. I’d make us all t-shirts, “I cleaned my junk drawer and it changed my life” but I’m not sure it will catch on.
No matter, you’ve got this.
To start, watch the video linked below.
Gather up your choice of supplies. Either the over the door organizer, the cereal boxes or ice cube trays. Then toss your junk on the counter and go!
The over the door organizer can easily be hidden in a pantry or attached garage if your junk drawer is located in the kitchen. Hang it with nails or 3m hooks instead of the provided over the door hangers to get it to lay flat right where you want it.
Use the ice cube trays in the drawer or just as a handy dandy tray for a project. You’ll look like a genius doing it. Smile and feel magical, accepting compliments. You’ve got this!
Look back on what you’ve accomplished and realize that not once did you need to thank your batteries for the service they provide.

Every time I see an article that tells me I’ve made mistakes I have to click on it.
I have to know if I’m a boob. Usually, I’m just positive that I’m going to come out on top, confident that I wouldn’t make the same mistakes as everyone else. Yet, I start reading and nodding my head. Continue reading
