When I was a kid, I had a retainer. Which, I threw away. More than once. It was traumatic. Aside from the fact that I had to go through trash (gross cafeteria trash) I also got yelled at by parents who were ready to pull their hair out trying to make me understand the value of the process that I hated.
This has left scars that you can't see.
Many times a day, I stand at the trash and feel a sense of loss that I can't quite explain.
You know I have more than a few notebooks right? In a previous facebook live I let you peek into my closet at my stock (see it here). I just love a fresh notebook. Don't get me wrong I'm all for going paperless but the act of writing things down is part of how I think.
What if you put it in the cloud and you lose it? Or it gets hacked.... or you forget your password..... or you simply forget where online you put them? I mean, are these newfangled online papers even legal?!
At this point it's easy to see why people are so afraid but there's also a beautiful dream that could be your reality.
With summer coming to an end and school fast approaching I find myself wondering what clothes and shoes my family needs for the year. So without thinking, I went into my teen son's bedroom to check his drawers and closet.
I barely made it out alive. Y'all.
Organizing our precious memorabilia can be a nightmare. Between knowing what to save, how to save it and who it was from. You can find yourself swimming in a sea of emotions. This can make dealing with our memorabilia very stressful.
We’re not saying you need to cheap out on Dad but there’s nothing wrong with doing something amazing out of love rather than dumping a wad of cash on something that will become clutter.
